Confirmed – Tata 45X Production Model is coming on March 5, 2019

Tata 45X production version will be based on new Alfa modular platform.

Tata Motors has confirmed that the production version of the 45X premium hatchback will make its public debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, scheduled on March 5, 2019. The Tata 45X concept was first unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. This premium hatchback will be launched in the Indian market in the mid-2019. It will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20.

The Tata 45X is based on the new Alfa modular platform, which will underpin all upcoming Tata cars below 4.3 meters in length. It is also the brand’s second model to feature the new IMPACT 2.0 DESIGN philosophy. The hatchback has already been spotted multiple times while testing on Indian roads.

Going by the spy images, it is visible that the production-ready model gets a slimmer ‘Humanity Line’ grille, larger headlamps and an angular front bumper. It also gets a prominent shoulder line, upswept window line, sloping roofline, integrated spoiler and LED tail-lights. The production-ready model will also receive newly designed alloy wheels. The interior pictures of the production version of the Tata 45X hatchback have also been leaked on the internet. The hatchback gets a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features. The fit and finish and material quality is expected to be top-notch. The Tata 45X is expected to be offered with 2 engine options – 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol from Tiago and 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol from Nexon. While the former is good for 85bhp and 114Nm, the later offers 108bhp and 170Nm of torque. It is still unclear whether the the new 45X hatchback will come with a diesel engine. Media reports claim that the 45X could receive the mild-hybrid system as well. A six-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, while a dual-clutch automatic will be offered as optional.
