To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AMG high performance division, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe at Rs 74.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This AMG GLC 43 Coupe is the eighth product to be launched by the German carmaker and the third AMG model in India this year, after likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 and the S-Class Concierge Edition. It will make way its way to India via CBU (Completely Built Up) route. Based on the standard GLC SUV, this AMG version carries a muscular and bold styling making it different from the regular one.
Under the hood, the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe features a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine linked to an improved 9-G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox. This auto box also performs transmission duties on the AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe. The AMG GLC 43 Coupe makes a top power of 362bhp between 5500-6000rpm and 520Nm of torque at 2500-4500rpm. With lightweight body-built, this coupe SUV is capable to achieve 0 to 100kmph in just 4.8 seconds. This makes it 0.1 second faster than the regular GLC 43. The car offers a top speed of 250kmph. The SUV’s V6 motor supports AWD (all-wheel-drive) system, and comes with four driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus. Just so you know, the regular Mercedes Benz GLC SUV comes with two powertrain options – 220d 4MATIC and 300 4MATIC. The tweaked adaptive damping and air suspension system of the AMG GLC 43 Coupe boosts its dynamic capabilities.
Sporting a few styling updates, the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe looks different from the regular model. This performance version features a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and a high-gloss black louvre with high-gloss chrome inserts. The performance-oriented GLC rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, which are standard across the AMG Sport lineup. Round the back, the coupe SUV gets wide wraparound LED tail lamps, chromed twin exhausts with a four-pipe and a sharper spoiler lip. The premium upholstery has AMG logo embossed on the rear seat belts, head rests and door sill plates. The instrument cluster also features AMG lettering. The dashboard houses two large dials and a 5.5 inch central colour multifunction display with several faux carbon fibre trim pieces. There is an 8-inch infotainment system that can be operated via the touch panel integrated on the centre console. This system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth connectivity.
For entertainment purpose, the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe gets high-quality 13-speaker audio system from Burmester. This music system has 9-channel DSP amplifier with 590 watts of output. The performance coupe SUV offers the best-in-class boot space of 491-litrs, which is expandable up to 1,400-litres with second row completely folded.
