2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift has finally gone on sale in India at a starting price of Rs 30.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). Mercedes-Benz is also offering an unlimited mileage service packs on the new GLA starting at Rs 49,000 along with extended warranty packs start at Rs 37,000. This is the seventh product from the German carmaker in India this year.
First previewed at this year’s North American International Motor Show in Detroit, the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA facelift receives several cosmetic upgrades along with a handful of luxury features. However, the things under the hood remain unchanged.

Visually, the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA looks more refreshing and premium than the previous model. The facelifted model features a slightly modified front fascia, which in-lines with the CLA facelift launched late last year. The SUV gets a new grille with chain-link chrome elements that give it a bolder appearance. The revised bumper with bigger air dam, new 18-inch black alloy wheels with chrome highlights and new rear-view mirrors further enhance its sporty look. Instead of the optional bi-xenon units, the SUV gets multi-beam LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Towards the rear, the 2017 GLA facelift sports a slightly tweaked bumper and reworked LED tail-lights.
On the contrary, the interior design looks more or less similar to the previous model. Though, the SUV comes with a host of new luxury and connectivity features. For 2017, the GLA receives an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, new dials and needles with a black needle centre. There is a new Black Ash wood trim (instead of Burl Walnut) and chrome finish on the electric seat controls, centre console stowage compartment surround and lightly updated instrumentation cluster. With an aim to improve its safety quotient, the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA has been equipped with Active Brake Assist that signals the driver when a car is too close.
The SUV also gets an electric tailgate with motion detection that operates with a foot gesture. Other safety features include 360-degree parking camera with and bird’s eye view, parking sensors, 6 airbags, traction control, keyless entry and many more. Engine setup for the 2017 Mercedes GLA remains unchanged. The SUV continues to use the same 2.1-litre diesel engine with two options 136bhp with 300Nm and 168bhp with 350Nm on the 220d variant. The GLA 200 petrol variant derives its power from the same 2.0-litre motor making 183bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. All variants are paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, supported by AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
