Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross Testing Begins In India
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross could be retailed via premium Nexa dealerships.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross, the upcoming 6-seater crossover from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, has been caught testing for the first time in India. Based on the second-generation Maruti Ertiga MPV, the new crossover version will see a release by the end of this year. It’s likely to be positioned as premium offering than the standard Ertiga. The carmaker might retail the Ertiga Cross via its Nexa outlets instead the Arena dealerships.
The test mule is heavily camouflage covering its design details. Though, its Ciaz-inspired headlamps with LED DRLs (daytime running lights), a larger grille with thick chrome line and an upright nose are still visible. The body panel of the Maruti Ertiga Cross seems carried over from the MPV’s regular model.

Design bits such as the new front bumper with a large air intake and extra cladding all around the body will add more to its sporty appeal. The ground clearance of the crossover version will also be higher than the regular model. Interior details are still under the wraps. Under the hood, the spotted model is likely to house BS6-ready, 1.5L K15B petrol engine. This gasoline motor pushes out a peak power of 104bhp with 138Nm of torque. Transmission on offer might include a 5-speed manual unit.
