Maruti Suzuki Dzire Gets Safety & Emissions Update; Prices Increased

Maruti Suzuki Dzire is now available in the price range of Rs 5.82 lakh – Rs 9.57 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki India has introduced Bharat Stage-VI (BS6) compliant Dzire (petrol) in the country. In fact, the subcompact sedan is now also meet the new stringent AIS-145 safety norms by offering better crash protection and more standard safety features including seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors and high speed alert along with dual airbags and ABS with EBD. With both upgrades (BS6 and AIS-145), prices of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire have been increased by up to Rs 13,000. Now, the subcompact sedan lineup is available in the price range of Rs 5.82 lakh – Rs 9.57 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi).

Just so you know, Maruti Suzuki is one of the first carmakers to update its model lineup for the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be enforced from 1st April, 2020. In fact, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is planning to phase out its diesel vehicles before the official deadline. Currently, the company has two diesel powertrains – 1.3L Fiat-sourced Multijet and 1.5L DDiS (developed in-house).

Recently, Maruti Suzuki rolled out the BS6-compliant Swift and WagonR hatchbacks. Similar to the BS6-ready Dzire, both vehicles also witness a price hike. Furthermore, the carmaker introduced the CNG variants of the new Maruti Suzuki Alto – LXi and LXi (O) – priced at Rs 4.11 lakh and Rs 4.14 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
