Maruti S-Presso Clocked Over 10,000 Monthly Sales Before Lockdown
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the small hatchback from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, has been doing really good in terms of sales. Launched in September 2019, the small car managed to clock over 10,000 units on monthly basis. In fact, its sales figures are higher than most of its rivals including Renault Kwid, Hyundai Santro and Datsun Redi-GO. The range-topping VXi and VXi+ variants are high in demand and around 48% bookings come from the Tier II and Tier III cities.
The Maruti S-Presso is being favoured for its upright stance, compact dimensions, well-packed interior, efficient powertrain and of-course the competitive pricing. Based on Suzuki’s Heartect platform, the small hatchback has been priced from Rs 3.69 lakh to Rs 4.91 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. It has been retailed via Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership network.
The linup includes 4 manual and 2 AMT variants powered by a BS6 1.0L K10B petrol engine making 68bhp and 90Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission). The lower variants return a claimed mileage of 21.4kmpl, the top models deliver 21.7kmpl. The all-black interior with colour-coded orange bits gives it a sporty appeal. The small hatchback is packed with goodies such as a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, rear parcel tray, steering mounted controls, 12V accessory socket and more. The standard safety kit includes a drive side airbag, ABS, seat-belt reminders, rear parking sensors, a speed alert system and a digital speedometer.
