We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki has officially announced to commence supply of Vitara Brezza compact SUV to Toyota Motor Corporation in India. The Japanese brand will launch the revised version of the Brezza, which is scheduled to be launched in the end of this year. The company has registered the name Urban Cruiser, which is likely to be the name for the upcoming compact SUV.

Digital artist Kleber Silva has released a couple of renderings of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, which suggests the possible design changes to the front and rear. It will be the second product under the new Suzuki-Toyota partnership, first being the Glaza hatchback based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Unlike Glanza, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is likely to receive significant design changes to the front and rear profile. The new rendering reveals that the SUV will have new grille, which resembles the global Toyota SUVs including the C-HR. The headlamps are full-LED units and are like modern Toyota cars. The rendering features the intercooler grille that doubles as a radiator grille. The SUV rides on new wheels, which are sourced from a US-spec Corolla sedan.

Previous media reports claim that Toyota will make some changes to the soft parts of the SUVs including the grille and bumpers. The headlamp and tail-lamp unit will remain the same; except for the new graphics. The wheels are also likely to be sourced from the regular model. Inside the cabin, the Toyota’s version of the Brezza is likely to receive brighter colour combinations for the dashboard and seats.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. This engine is capable of producing 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
