Maruti S-Cross Petrol Likely To Share 1.5L Engine With New Ertiga

2017 Maruti S Cross facelift

The Maruti S-Cross Petrol is likely to receive a new 104bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker will launch the Ciaz facelift and the new-gen Ertiga MPV before Diwali 2018. The Ciaz will first go on sale on August 20. What’s important is that both models will be equipped with a bigger capacity and more powerful petrol engine. Instead of existing 1.4-litre K-Series engine, the new models will get a newly developed 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine.

Not just Ciaz and Ertiga, this engine is also likely to be offered with Maruti’s popular existing models including S-Cross and Vitara Brezza. It is expected that the petrol version of these new models will be launched by the end of this year or early 2019. The Maruti S-Cross’s direct rivals – Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster – are available in both petrol and diesel avatars, while the S-Cross only comes with a diesel option.
