Mahindra Alturas Receives 1,000 Bookings So Far
Mahindra retails around 350 units of the Alturas SUV on monthly basis.
Mahindra & Mahindra’s flagship SUV – Alturas – was launched on 24th November, and its official bookings were commenced on 5th November, 2018. The SUV comes in two variants – G4 2WD and G4 4WD – cost Rs 26.95 lakh and Rs 29.95 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. Mahindra Alturas G4 takes directly on the segment leaders – Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
Talking to Autocar, Pawan Goenka, MD Mahindra and Mahindra revealed that the Alturas G4 has received 1,000 bookings so far. The company aims to achieve combined monthly sales of 9,000 units of the newly-launched Marazzo 7-seater premium MPV, Alturas G4 SUV and the upcoming XUV300. The Mahindra XUV300 subcompact SUV is slated to go on sale on 14th February, 2019.

While Mahindra is quite satisfied with the bookings Alturas has received, it’s quite low in comparison to Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. While the former has an average month sales of around 1,800 units, the latter one manages to clock around 500 units per month. For power, the Mahindra Alturas makes use of a 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine pushing out power worth 180.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 420Nm of torque at 1,600-2,600rpm.
