The Mahindra Alturas G4 will come equipped with segment-leading safety and comfort features

The long-awaited Mahindra Alturas G4 will officially go on sale in India on November 24, 2018. Ahead of the launch, Mahindra has released a TVC of the 7-seater premium SUV. This pre-launch TVC reveals the prominent design highlights & interior elements. Pre-bookings for the SUV have already been commenced at Rs 50,000, while deliveries are being promised from November 26, 2018.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 will be available in two trims – 2WD AT and 4WD AT. It is being offered in 5 exterior paint schemes – Napoli Black, Lakeside Brown, Regal Blue, Dsat Silver and New Pearl White. The homegrown automaker has also confirmed that the Alturas G4 will be retailed via an independent high-end showroom developed within the Mahindra ‘World of SUVs’.

The SUV is basically a re-badged version of the SsangYong Rexton G4, which is already on sale in select international markets. Mahindra has changed the front design to give it a family-look. What’s interesting is that the Alturas G4 is bigger than the Toyota Fortuner. It is 55mm longer and 105mm wider than the Fortuner. While Mahindra Alturas measures 4,850mm in length, 1,960mm in width and 1,800 in height, the Toyota Fortuner is 4,795mm long, 1,855mm wide and 1,835mm tall. Inside the cabin, the Alturas G4 gets a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and navigation support, a massage function for seats, mood lighting, electric sidesteps, selectable AWD system, etc. Also See – Mahindra Alturas – 5 Facts To Know

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is also claimed to offer segment-leading safety features. The list includes 9 airbags, active roll-over protection, 3D 360 degree around view camera, ABS with EBD, hill launch assist, ESP, traction control and many more. Powering the SUV is a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 180.5bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via a 7-speed torque convertor gearbox, which is sourced from Mercedes-Benz.
