Mahindra’s subsidiary, Classic Legends has finally re-introduced the iconic Jawa nameplate in the Indian market. The company has introduced 3 new bikes – Jawa Classic, Jawa Forty Two and the Jawa Perak. The Perak is undoubtedly the most attractive looking bike in the Jawa’s line-up. Here we bring you 5 interesting facts about this motorcycle –

– Most Expensive Jawa

The Jawa Perak is priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the other two Jawas – Classic and Forty Two – are priced at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively. Set to go on sale in 2019, the new Perak is the most expensive Jawa motorcycle in India.

– Bigger Engine

The Perak and other two Jawa bikes share the same double craddle platform. Though, Perak is powered by a bigger and more powerful engine. The Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are powered by a 28bhp, 293cc single-cylinder. On the flip side, the Perak gets a bored out version of this engine. – A Single-Seater Bobber With Monoshock Suspension

The Perak is basically the factory custom Bobber, which has a single-seat setup and retro-modern styling. Instead of gas-charged twin-shock absorber (available in other two Jawas), the Perak gets a monoshock suspension at the rear. At the front, it features the conventional telescopic forks.

– Dual-Disc & Dual-Channel ABS

While the standard Jawas feature 280mm front disc and 153mm drum brakes, the factory custom Jawa Perak gets dual disc setup. This should improve the overall braking performance of the bike. – Pirelli Tyres & Early 2019 Launch

The Jawa Classic and Forty Two comes equipped with spoked wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres from MRF. However, the Perak gets blackened alloys with Pirelli-sourced tyres that will give enhanced road-grip and improved performance. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2019.
