The Japanese carmaker has finally introduced its much-awaited Nissan Kicks compact SUV in the Indian market. Launched at a starting price of Rs 9.55 lakh, this new SUV takes on the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. The carline includes two petrol variants – XL (Rs 9.55 lakh) and XV (Rs 10.95 lakh) – and four diesel variants – XL (Rs 10.85 lakh), XV (Rs 12.49 lakh), XV Premium (Rs 13.65 lakh) and XV Premium+ (Rs 14.65 lakh). 1. Bigger Than Rivals

The Nissan Kicks measures 4384mm in length, 1813mm in width and 1656mm in height with a wheelbase of 2673mm. Its arch rival – Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, is 4270 long, 1780mm wide, 1630mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2590mm. This makes it around 114mm shorter, 33mm wider and 26mm taller than the Creta. 2. Segment First-Features

Nissan’s new compact SUV offers several segment-first features including an Around View Monitor 360-degree camera technology, a telematics-enabled smartwatch, automatic AC unit as standard and a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto) and navigation system. 3. Sporty Styling

Compared to its competition, the Nissan Kicks has unique and sporty styling. The front end of the SUV has aggressive appeal, thanks to its LED projector headlamps, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, a V-motion grille, sweptback headlamps and a faux skid plate. Other design highlights include 17-inch machined alloy wheels with 215/60 tyres, floating-effect roof, boomerang taillamps and muscular rear bumper.

Prices of Nissan’s new 5-seater premium SUV fall in the range of Rs 9.55 lakh – Rs 14.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its competitor – Hyundai Creta – is currently available in the price range of Rs 9.50 lakh – Rs 15.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
