Jaguar’s first all-electric five-seater sports car – the I-Pace has finally been unveiled ahead of its global debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The 88th edition of the automobile show is scheduled to begin from 8th March, 2018. The concept version of the SUV was first previewed at the 2016 LA Motor Show. Boosted with the next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the all-new Jaguar I-Pace is claimed to “deliver sustainable sports car performance’.
Aiming to design and develop a flawless model, the company had produced around 200 prototypes with the help of a team of 500 engineers. The SUV is claimed to be tested for over 1.5 million miles around the globe. At the heart of the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace are in-house designed two electric motors with high torque density and high-energy efficiency attributes. It delivers a combined power and torque outputs of 400PS (394.5bhp) and 696Nm respectively. The SUV can do 0 to 100kmph in just 4.8 seconds, and offer a range of 480km (WLTP – Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure cycle). Built on the bespoke EV aluminium architecture, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace has coupe-like silhouette inspired by the Jaguar C-X75 supercar. Its platform is benefited with advanced riveting and bonding technology that makes it light with stiff body-built. The shorter and sloping bonnet, roof design and curved rear screen enhance aerodynamics of the car. Interior of the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace has premium feel and appeal. Its cab forward design offers a generous cabin space for occupants. The British luxury carmaker also introduced the Touch Pro Due infotainment system with touchscreens, capacitive sensors and physical controls. Its new EV navigation system uses ‘Smart Settings’ technology, which driven by AI algorithms. Jaguar offers two premium seats upholstery – the fine-grain Windsor leather and Danish textile developed high-quality material.
Suspension setup of the new Jaguar SUV includes advanced double wishbone front and integral link rear unit. Its compact suspension design features aluminium suspension knuckles and links, thus making it light and maximize cabin space. The air suspension with adaptive dynamics and continuous variable damping is optional.
