Ford, American automaker has unveiled a new variant of its popular compact SUV, EcoSport in the Brazilian market. Called Ford EcoSport Storm, the new variant comes with cosmetic upgrades on the exterior as well as interior. It is mainly developed for the Brazilian market, but Ford could also launch this edition in the Indian market on later stage. Ford EcoSport Storm edition comes with a range of new features along with muscular look.
The new edition comes equipped with a newly designed front fascia. It features a sporty front grille with STORM badge embossed in the centre, which shares styling cues with the Ford Raptor. The front also gets black fog lamp garnish, while the bonnet gets two black strips and small air vents at the beginning of the A-pillars. The grille is complimented by Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The rear-view mirror has dark London Grey combination. The Ford EcoSport Storm special edition comes with blackened treatment. The side profile of the car gets black outside rear view mirrors, a black decal with storm badging, blackened door handles, a black beltline moulding and black fender flared. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. The black treatment is also available one the black roof rails, sunroof and cross roof racks. Inside the cabin, the Ford EcoSport Storm edition comes with an updated cabin, featuring dual-tone orange and grey color scheme. The Strom badging is also embosed on the front seat backrests. It is also equipped with a 8-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with navigation.
Ford EcoSport Storm Specifications
Under the hood, the Ford EcoSport Storm is offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The gasoline version is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 170bhp and a peak torque of 202Nm. On the other hand, the oil burner is a 2.0-litre unit that produces 176bhp of power and 221Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all 4 wheels via a six-speed automatic torque convertor.
It is quite early to comment whether Ford will launch the EcoSport Storm edition in the country. The India-spec EcoSport is available with two engine options – 1.5-litre diesel and a new 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine. As a reminder, Ford will launch the updated version of the Figo twins, Figo Cross hatchback and the updated Endeavour SUV.
Ford EcoSport Storm India Launch
The EcoSport is the company’s global product and there is a possibility that Ford could bring this edition in India as well. Though, Ford India is yet to make a statement on this product. We will update our readers as soon as Ford announces anything on the same.
Ford EcoSport Storm Price In India
The EcoSport Storm edition will be based on the top-spec model. Equipped with new grille and better equipment, the new model will be pricier than the current model. We believe that this variant could be priced around Rs 11 lakh.
