New Ford EcoSport facelift comes in five trim levels – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+.

Ford India has finally introduced its much-awaited EcoSport facelift at a starting price of Rs 7.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). For 2017 model year, the compact SUV has received significant cosmetic upgrades along with a new, more efficient petrol engine. The 2017 EcoSport facelift will continue to compete against the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata’s all-new Nexon.

1. Prices Remain Largely Unchanged 

The new EcoSport comes in five trim levels – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. The petrol models of the car are priced from Rs 7.31 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh, and the diesel variants’ prices range between Rs 8.01 lakh – 10.67 Rs lakh. 2. Comprehensively Redesigned

Claimed to be redesigned with 1600 new parts, the facelifted EcoSport looks sportier than the old one. Key highlights include a larger upper trapezoidal grille and lower grille, new headlamps with LED daytime running lights, bold fog lamps, sculpted hood with a wider central dome and larger 17-inch alloy wheels (only on the Titanium+ trim). 3. More Upmarket Interior

Major update comes in the form Ford’s in-car SYNC 3 infotainment system with voice commands. It is also compatible to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system enables you to adjust multiple settings and connect your smartphone. 4. High On Safety

All variants of the new EcoSport get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiter, automatic door locks, engine immobiliser and door ajar warning as standard safety fitments. On the other hand, the range-topping Titanium+ trim is exclusively offered with side and curtain airbags, ISOFIX mounts, cruise control with adjustable speed-limiting device, automatic headlamps and wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system and revere parking camera. 5. Segment’s Most Powerful Petrol Engine

Ford has introduced an all-new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder TiVCT petrol powertrain on the updated EcoSport. This compact and lighter motor is claimed to deliver better performance, while reducing friction. The power and torque output of the new petrol engine stand at 121.3bhp and 150Nm respectively. It also makes the new EcoSport petrol the most powerful car in its segment. The compact SUV also continues to come with the 123bhp, 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol and 99bhp, 1.5-litre TDCI diesel powertrains. 6. More Fuel Efficient

With the new petrol engine, the EcoSport facelift is claimed to deliver 7% better fuel economy than the old gasoline unit. In fact, the diesel powertrain is said to be more frugal than before. The new 1.5L petrol motor delivers 17kmp and the diesel unit returns 23kmpl. The EcoBoost unit offers a claimed mileage of 18.9kmpl.
