Subcompact SUVs changed the general notion attached to the full-size sport utility vehicles, known for their ruggedness, muscularity and off-road ability. No one had imagined that SUVs would be squeezed to sub four-meter length and tailored for city driving or tuned to return mileage as good as a hatchback. Ford turned it into reality with its EcoSport model in June 2013 that became an instant hit and inspired several other models that joined the segment later. Even though it continues to charm customers, Ford has given its popular model a mid-life facelift and we bring you our first impressions on the facelifted model.

How is it on the outside?
Aesthetically, the new EcoSport looks more aggressive and bold with Ford’s signature family grille up front. This grille is used in most of Ford’s global SUVs and the new Endeavour, that injects aggression to the face. The headlamps have been replaced with the new units and feature integrated daytime running lights. Front bumper has been restyled and it gets larger fog lamps in front, these changes altogether accentuate the macho look, more in line with the SUV-ish styling. Complimenting the bold look are the new 17-inch alloy rims (On Titanium+) with 205mm width, save for this change, the SUV remains unchanged from side.
