New Ford EcoSport facelift, recently, had its world premiere at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. Besides this, the American carmaker also showcased the first-ever all-wheel drive (AWD) version of the compact SUV. The Ford EcoSport 4X4 (AWD) variant will be launched only in the North American market. Since the U.S-spec EcoSport facelift will be produced at Ford India’s Chennai facility, there are possibilities that it might arrive in the Indian market as well.
In the U.S market, the Ford EcoSport 4X4 (AWD) will be exclusively available with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol powertrain boosted with direct injection system. The power and torque outputs of this engine are around 240bhp and 339Nm respectively. The US-spec model will also be available with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine with front-wheel drive system. In India though, the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift will retain its existing engine lineup – a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoost. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and automatic. The facelifted model receives comprehensive styling and features upgrades. On the exterior, the car gets a new grille with wider chrome bars, revised headlamp cluster and bonnet, a faux skid plate, new alloys and larger fog lamps.
Interior updates include a new 8-inch floating screen with Ford’s Sync 3 entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bang & Olufsen sound system with 10 speakers, a revised dashboard and two fast-charging USB ports.
