The seven millionth car that has been rolled out from Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur plant in Chennai is top-spec automatic trim of the Creta.

India’s second largest passenger carmaker, Hyundai has achieved a new milestone as it has rolled out seven millionth car since its Indian operations from 1998. The seven millionth car that has been rolled out from the Sriperumbudur plant in Chennai is top-spec automatic trim of the Creta. With this milestone, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has grabbed the second position among its overseas peers (first is China) in Hyundai Motor Group. Besides this, the South Korean carmaker also becomes the first auto manufacturer in India to achieve this milestone within 18 years of its commercial operations.

The South Korean automaker now aims to achieve 10 million units milestone within the first half of 2021. The company says that it has touched the one million milestone at an average of every 18 months. Just so you know, Hyundai’s first million car was the Santro that crossed this mark just eight years after commencement of its commercial production. Afterwards, the next million milestone being achieved within an average of 18-19 months. With a total volume of 24,64,723 (till date), Hyundai India also ranked as the top exporter for the 12 consecutive years.
