New Chevrolet Cruze 2017 was recently launched in China in seven trims at RMB 1,09,900 (Rs 11.02 lakh approx). While, the sedan’s India launch is expected to take place in 2017. Upon launch, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze will compete against the Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Elantra, Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia. Besides the new Cruze, General Motors is also planning introduce 3 new cars (new-gen Chevrolet Beat hatchback, Beat Essentia sedan, Beat Activ Crossover) and a facelift (Chevrolet Trailblazer) in India.

The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze prices are likely to be a notch higher than its current model. The saloon might be offered within the price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). In China, the sedan is priced between RMB 1,09,900 (Rs 11.02 lakh) – RMB 1,69,900 (Rs 17.04 lakh).

The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze will source its power from a new 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This gasoline unit will deliver 153bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. The sedan’s new model will be capable to complete 0-100kmph sprints in 8 seconds. Transmission options on offer will be a 6-speed manual or an automatic. Reports suggest that the sedan might also continue to feature the existing 163.7bhp, 2.0-litre VCDi diesel powertrain or get a new diesel mill.

New Chevrolet Cruze 2017 India Mileage
The saloon’s new model is based on the lighter D2XX FWD platform, and have 27% stiffer body and a low drag coefficient (0.29). These attributes will surely make the 2017 Cruze more fuel efficient than current model.

The new Cruze is lighter (113kgs) and stiffer than the current model, courtesy of D2XX FWD platform. This also lowers the drag coefficient of the car. The saloon gets a hexagonal air intake, thin grille, sleeker sweptback headlamps with LED daytime running lights and new fog lamps at the front end. The side profile has been revised with new wing mirrors and re-designed C-pillar. At the rear end, you will notice a sporty bumper and new horizontal taillamps.
The Cruze’s new model is longer (99mm), wider (21mm), taller (6mm) than the existing one. The sedan now measures 4,666mm in length, 1,807mm in width and 1,460mm in height. The wheelbase, too, has been increased by 38mm. This makes it more spacious than the current model.

Interior of the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze will be more up-market, and have several new comfort and connectivity features to offer. Though, the saloon is likely to carry a 7-inch MyLink infotainment display (and 8-inch for top-end variants), new 3-spoke steering wheel, dual cockpit design, instrument cluster with a large MID and leather upholstery from the current model.
