Japanese automaker, Nissan has finally launched the 2020 Kicks facelift in the Indian market. The new model is now available in petrol version only as the diesel engine has been discontinued post BSVI emission norms. The 2020 Nissan Kicks now receives subtle design changes, better equipped interior and several high-end driver assistance and safety features. With new updates, Nissan hopes to increase its market share in the highly competitive mid-sized SUV segment. The new Nissan Kicks is available in 2 engine options – a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.3L turbocharged petrol. The 1.5L is available in 2 versions – XL and XV – priced at Rs 9.50 lakh and 10 lakh respectively. The 1.3L Turbo is available in six variants priced between Rs 11.85 lakh and Rs 14.15 lakh. The 1.3L Automatic is available in 2 variants – XV and XV Premium – priced at Rs 13.45 lakh and Rs 14.15 lakh respectively. All the prices are ex-showroom.

2020 Nissan Kicks Features

The new Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are available with 2 engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.4L turbocharged petrol. The Creta petrol range starts at Rs 9.99 lakh for the base 1.5L, which goes up to 16.15 lakh. The turbo version is available in 2 variants – SX and SX (O) – priced at Rs 16.16 lakh and Rs 17.20 lakh respectively.

The Nissan Kicks is powered by a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine produces 105bhp of power at 5,600rpm and 142Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The biggest addition is the new 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which called the HR13 DDT. This engine is capable of producing 154bhp of maximum power and 254Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and X-tronic CVT automatic.

The Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta shares the 1.5L naturally aspirated and 1.4L turbocharged petrol engines. While the former is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 144Nm of torque, the turbo unit produces 138bhp of power and 242Nm of torque. The Creta 1.5L is available with two engine options – a 6-speed MT and a CVT automatic, while the 1.4L unit is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. On the other hand, the Kia Seltos gets 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. Adding to it, the 1.5L unit gets a CVT automatic and a 1.4L unit is paired to a 7-speed DCT unit.

Hyundai Creta 7-Seater

Clearly, the Nissan Kicks Turbo is the most powerful in its category. Though, the naturally aspirated engine offers less power compared to the one available in the Creta and the Seltos. On the other hand, the later also gets 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos shares most of the features. Both SUVs are equipped with a landscape-oriented 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Creta has digital instrument console, which is not available in the Seltos. The Hyundai Creta is equipped with features like smart panoramic sunroof with voice control, paddle shifters, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, remote engine start, air purifier and one touch cruise control. The Seltos gets blind view monitor, heads-up display, front parking sensors and 360 degree camera.

2020 Nissan Kicks Interior

The Nissan Kicks facelift gets several high-end safety and driver assistance features like vehicle stability management system, electronic stability control, traction control system, hill start assist and cruise control. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets leather wrapped dual-tone brown and black interior with leather wrapped soft touch dashboard. The SUV gets Nissan Connect with Smartwatch connectivity, automatic air conditioning with rear AC vents, advance A-IVI with in-built voice recognition feature and around view mirror. It is equipped with features like automatic headlamps, front fog lamps with cornering function, rain sensing wipers, push button start and rain sensing wiper.
