2020 SsangYong Tivoli Introduced; Gets New Mahindra Engine
2020 SsangYong Tivoli facelift gets a new 1.2L petrol engine, which will also power the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz.
Korean automaker, SsangYong has revealed the facelifted version of its globally popular Tivoli SUV. The 2020 SsangYong Tivoli comes with revised styling and feature-loaded cabin with advanced safety and infotainment system along with an all-new engines complying with future emission norms. In UK, the updated Tivoli is available with 7-year/ 150,000-mile warranty.
The 2020 SsangYong Tivoli is now available with 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre GDi-T (direct-injection motor), a 1.5-litre GDi-T turbocharged petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel. The new engines are compliant with the latest Euro 6D emission standards. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged unit is the part of Mahindra’s mStallion range, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 126bhp of power at 5,000rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm at 1,750-3,500rpm. SsangYong claims that the new Tivoli equipped with 1.2L GDi-T engine accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 10.6 seconds. This engine will soon power the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz variant, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. In fact, the new engine will also power the Ford EcoSport.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 160bhp of power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 280Nm at 1,500-4,000rpm. This engine will also power the new Mahindra Marazzo. Mahindra could also utilise this engine in the new-generation Thar lifestyle SUV. The 1.6L diesel unit produces 135bhp of power at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 324Nm between 1,500-2,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an automatic gearbox.
The European-spec 2020 SsangYong Tivoli comes equipped with a host of safety features. All variants have 6 airbags and safety features including Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Automatic Emergency Breaking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Front Vehicle Start Alert (FVSA), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Emergency Stop System (ESS), Safety Distance Alert (SDA).
The 2020 SsangYong Tivoli comes equipped with a new 10.25-inch high resolution LCD instrument console. It also gets a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with rear camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other features include 18-inch diamond cut alloys, leather seats, heated leather steering, LED front fogs, keyless start, automatic headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, etc.
