The Kia Seltos is available in 2 trims and total of 16 variants (petrol and diesel). While the Petrol range starts at Rs 9.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.29 lakh, the diesel Seltos is priced between Rs 10.34 lakh and Rs 17.34 lakh.

The new Creta is available in 5 trim levels – E, EX, S, SX and SX (O). The petrol model is available in the price bracket of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh, the diesel Creta is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 17.20 lakh.

In terms of proportions, the new Hyundai Creta is 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,622mm in height. The Seltos is 15mm longer and 10mm wider than the Korean cousin. Moreover, the wheelbase (2,610mm) and wheel size (17-inch) of both SUVs are same. While new Creta has a boot space of 444-litres, the Seltos offers a luggage carrying capacity of 433-litres.

Though the new Creta and Seltos shares a lot of features and technology, the two look completely different from each other. The Kia Seltos is undoubtedly one of the best looking SUVs currently on sale in India. The overall design of the Seltos is aggressive, thanks to the sharp line on the face and shoulder. It comes with the signature Tiger Nose grille, LED headlamps, sculpted bonnet and dual-tone bumper with wider air-dam. Rising window line and sculpting on the uniquely styled rear haunches give side profile a stylish look. At the back, the SUV looks very urban and stylish. It gets raked windscreen, sleek chrome bar connecting the LED tail-lamps and dual exhaust integrated in faux silver.

The new Hyundai Creta looks exactly similar to the second-generation ix25 SUV, which was launched in China in late 2019. The SUV gets more prominent and flashy design, which should appeal to young audience. It gets a three-part headlights and tail-lights, a bigger chromed cascading grille, dual-tone bumper and sculpted hood. Other design highlights include squared wheel arches, silver-finished C-pillar, chromed door handles, and sharp creases on the sides. At the back, the SUV gets roof-integrated spoiler, black strip with brake light connecting the tail-lights, and black bumper with integrated reflectors and twin exhaust pipe.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta comes with conventional looking interior, but is equipped with several segment-leading features. It also gets segment-first 7.0-inch digital instrument console. The top-spec models get quilted leather upholstery, which gives it a more upmarket look.

The Kia Seltos gets smartly designed interior with several modern day features. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment is placed above the AC vents, and merges with the instrument console to form a single unit. The Seltos misses out on digital dials available in the Creta, but it has informative MID and a display for the blind spot cameras. Both SUVs get dual-tone black and beige interior scheme. In fact, the top-end variants has all-black interior with red accents. Both SUVs features two-step rear backrest recline.

Not just platform and specs, the Kia Seltos and new Hyundai Creta also shares several features starting from the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to the two-step rear backrest recline. However, Creta has some features that are missing in the sibling SUV, and the features iclude smart parnoramic sunroof with voice control, paddle shifters, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, remote engine start, touch-enabled auto air purifier and one-touch cruise control. Similarly, the Seltos has some features like blind view monitor, heads-up display, front parking sensors and 360-degree parking camera that are not available in the Creta.

2020 Creta Vs Seltos Engines

The Seltos and Creta share their powertrains and gearboxes. Both SUVs are available in 3 BSVI compliant engines – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel, a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. The diesel engine produces 115bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the 1.5L petrol unit is good for 115bhp and 144Nm of torque.

On the other hand, the 1.4L turbo petrol engine is capable of producing 140bhp of power and 242Nm of torque. However, Hyundai is not offering manual gearbox with the sporty 1.4-litre turbo-petrol. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is available with a 6-speed manual and CVT options, while the diesel is offered with manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The 1.4L engine is offered with a 7-speed DCT.
