Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Honda has silently launched the 2018 Honda Activa-i in the Indian market. The updated model is priced at Rs 50,010 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a slightly expensive than the previous model. The Activa-i is basically a female-oriented scooter, which failed to match-up the Activa 110 sales. With slight changes and trendy colours, Honda hopes to improve its sales in the market. The 2018 Honda Activa-i will challenge the likes of TVS Scooty Zest, Hero Pleasure, Yamaha Ray Z and the Suzuki Let’s. The scooter is now available in five new paint jobs – Candy Jazzy Blue, Lush Magneta Metallic, Imperial Red Metallic, Mat Axis Grey Metallic and Orchid Purple Metallic. Similar to the new Honda scooters, the new Activa-i gets a four-in-one ignition, and a separate switch to open the seat. Mechanically, the 2018 Honda Activa-i remains identical to the previous model. It is powered by the same 109cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 8bhp of power and 9Nm of torque. The scooters rides on 10-inch wheels shod with 90/100-10 tubeless tyres. For braking, the Honda Activa-i features drum brake units on both wheels. The CBS (Combi-Braking System) comes as standard.
