Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its long-awaited scooter, Grazia in India priced at Rs 57,897 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 125cc scooter is a premium offering that will go up against similar models in the segment. While it will take on scooters from other two-wheeler manufacturers, the newly launched model will also go straight against its sibling Activa 125. Interestingly, the two share some components as well as engine and have been priced similarly (minor gap). Honda Grazia Vs Honda Activa 125 Design
To give it an edge over rivals, Honda has bestowed Grazia with some segment first features that include LED headlamp. It sports a dual-tone colour scheme for a funkier look and gets multiple utility points along with a USB charging point in tandem with new-age scooters. The wider apron and foot-board in front provides enough space to the rider. It gets a four in one lock with seat opener switch, large turn indicators, combi-braking system with equalizer, fibre components and alloy wheels. Other bits such as disc brake metal foot pegs for pillion, telescopic front forks and 90/90-12 front and 90/100-10 rear tubeless tyres are also the part of the standard kit.
Built on the under-bone frame, Honda Activa 125 recently received updates and gets a more upmarket look than its predecessor. Among the changes, it gets new LED position lights that come integrated into front chrome chest. There is a larger 3D Honda emblem, a new mobile charging socket, longer & wider seat, retractable front hook etc. The 2017 model rides on larger 12-inch front wheel and sits on longer wheelbase.

In terms of pricing, there is a minor difference between Grazia and Activa 125. Available in three variants each, there is a meagre difference of Rs 400 between Grazia and Activa 125.
While the prices of entry level and top-spec variants are mentioned above, the mid-level trims in Grazia and Activa 125 are priced at Rs 59,427 and Rs 59,827 respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both models share the same 124.9cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke SI engine that has been tuned to comply with BS IV emission norms. In terms of power, the HET engine makes 8.60bhp at 6,500rpm against 10.12Nm torque at 5,000rpm. Transmission duties are carried over by the V-Matic gearbox with claimed top speed of 85km/h. While on the Grazia, the single-cylinder engine gets 3-step eco speed indicator and Honda has calibrated the engine for a peppier performance.
