2018 Ford Aspire Facelift – What To Expect

Ford Aspire 2018

The new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift will witness significant changes along with a new petrol engine.

Ford India will soon give an update to its two popular cars – the Figo hatchback and the Aspire sedan. While the former will see a releasing in coming months, the latter will be rolled out in the second half of 2018. In the sub-4 metre sedan space, the Ford Aspire goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze that witnessed a generation change this year. Aiming to withstand competition from both the vehicles, the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift will witness significant changes. Here’re five things that we can expect from the updated model of the sedan.

1. New Petrol Engine

The American carmaker will introduce the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine on the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift. The same powertrain does duty in the Freestyle crossover. The new gasoline motor makes 94bhp with 115Nm of torque. The range-topping trim of the sedan will get the new 123bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine from the Dragon family that debuted on the EcoSport. The 99bhp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel powertrain will also be on offer. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic torque converter (instead of the DCT unit).

2. Refreshing Looks

Featuring minor design updates, the new Ford Aspire 2018 will surely be more premium than the current one. Most of the changes are likely to be made on the face of the sedan. The updated model will get a new mesh grille instead of the chrome slats, revised headlamps, LED position lights, re-designed bumper with wider airdam. Other key updates will include new alloy wheels, slightly revised taillamps and rear bumper. Read – New Ford Endeavour Revealed In New Pictures

3. Several New Goodies

There will be a bunch of new features including a new dashtop touchscreen display (instead of the monochrome infotainment screen) with lesser in-car control buttons, automatic shifter lever and repositioned central air-con vents. The engine start-stop button will also be shifted a little closer to the driver. Check Out – Upcoming Ford Cars In India

4. Misses Out On Some Important Features

The new Ford Aspire facelift will continue to miss out some important features parking sensors, reverse camera, projector headlamps and daytime running lights. The updated model will offer a boot space of 359-litre, which is relatively low than the Dzire (378L), Honda Amaze (420L) and Hyundai Xcent (407L). The carline will devoid of the diesel automatic variant. Read – New Ford Premium Hatchback Under Development

5. Competitive Pricing

Currently, the sedan comes in the price range of Rs 5.81 lakh – Rs 8.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Ford Aspire 2018 will surely be a little more expensive than the pre-facelift model. Though, it will be quite competitive against the Honda Amaze, Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent that come in the price range of Rs 5.59 lakh – Rs 8.99 lakh, Rs 5.56 lakh – Rs 9.43 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh – Rs 8.61 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
