2018 Ford Aspire Launching Tomorrow – Changes, Variants & Details

New Ford Aspire 2018 Facelift

Here’re the complete details of the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift.

The new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift will finally go on sale in India tomorrow (4th October, 2018). Ahead of its official launch, here’re the complete details of the cosmetic, feature and mechanical changes that have been made to the car.

New Powerful Engines

The American carmaker has introduced its new 96bhp, 1.2-litre and 123bhp and 1.5-litre Dragon Series petrol engines on the updated sedan carline. This makes the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift slightly more powerful and torqueier than the old 1.2L petrol engine. The smaller capacity 1.2L motor has already been used in the Freestyle.

While the 1.2L petrol variants will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5L petrol models will come with a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission (instead dual-clutch unit). The diesel version of the sedan will feature the 1.5-litre turbocharged motor that’s good enough for 98.6bhp and 215Nm of torque. Read – Ford Aspire Trip To Challenge Maruti Dzire Tour

Better Mileage

In the Freestyle, Ford’s new 1.2L petrol motor offers an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.4kmpl. Using the same powertrain, the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift will be as frugal as the cross-hatch. Compared to the outgoing 1.2L petrol engine that returns 18.16kmpl, the new Aspire petrol will be around 2.24kmpl more fuel efficient.  Read – New Ford Premium Hatchback Under Development

The diesel unit has also been tuned for achieving better fuel economy. The refreshed Aspire diesel promises an average of 26.1kmpl as against 25.83kmpl of the outgoing model. However, the 1.5L petrol automatic variants deliver 16.3kmpl, which is marginally (by 0.7kmpl) less than the current model.

Big Changes

The new Ford Aspire 2018 has witnessed a few comprehensive cosmetic upgrades including new honeycomb pattern grille with chrome surrounds, revised sweptback headlamps that might get LED daytime running lamps, wider central airdam, new round fog lamps, newly-designed alloy wheels and slightly revised rear bumper and taillamps. Read – New Ford Endeavour Revealed In New Pictures
