1. Datsun GO Twins

New Datsun GO 2018

Nissan’s low-cost brand, Datsun will launch the updated versions of the Go hatchback and Go Plus MPV in India in October 2018. The refreshed models will receive subtle design changes and better equipped cabin. On the outside, the new GO twins will receive restyled dashboard with a touchscreen display integrated in the centre. This touchscreen unit will be compatible with smartphone connectivity and Bluetooth telephony. Powering the new models is the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 67bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. The 2018 Datsun Go and GO+ facelifts will come I. 5 variants and 2 new paint jobs – Sunstone Brown and Amber Orange.

2. New Hyundai Santro

Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch an all-new small car – Codenamed AH2 – in India in the last quarter of October. The small car will mostly to mark the re-introduction of Santro nameplate in the market. The new model with continue to feature the practical tall-boy design, though design will be different than previous model. It will feature modern Hyundai’s design philosophy, featuring cascade-type grille and slim headlamps. The new model is claimed to offer segment first rear AC vents and a large 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It will be powered by the same tried & tested 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It will also be the first Hyundai car in India to feature an AMT gear box.

3. New-gen Maruti WagonR

New Maruti Suzuki WagonR Details

Maruti’s popular tall-boy hatch WagonR will receive a generation change in the first quarter of 2019. The small car is reportedly to be based on Suzuki’s new-generation heartect platform, which is lighter and stiffer. We believe that Maruti could use the modified version of the existing platform. The small car will meet the upcoming crash test, which means dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors will come as standard. Additionally, the new WagonR will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre K-series petrol engine producing 67bhp of power and 91Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic option will be on offer.

4. Tata Tiago JTP

Homegrown automaker, Tata Motors will launch the performance oriented version of its popular entry-level hatchback – Tata Tiago. First unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the Tata Tiago JTP will be India’s most affordable hot hatch. It looks largely identical to the regular model, except for the few changes in the form of aggressive bumper, side skirts and new alloys. Under the hood will be a tried and tested 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

American automaker, Ford will launch the updated version of its popular hatchback Figo in the end of 2018 or early 2019. The small car will receive multiple changes outside and inside as well. The vehicle will get a revised grille, new bumper, alloys and re-profiled tail-lights. Inside the cabin, the hatch will have a new touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3 technology. This system will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with voice commands and Bluetooth telephony. It will be powered by a newly developed 96bhp, 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engines
