12 New SUV/MPV Launches By April 2023

The Delhi Auto Expo is all set to return after a pause of three years and car manufacturers are getting ready to showcase their new exciting range of vehicles. The mega automotive event will witness several new concept and product unveilings and new car launches. Here’re some key details of 11 upcoming new SUV/MPV, which are scheduled to launch by April 2023.

New MG Hector/Hector Plus – January

New MG Hector Production

The 2023 MG Hector and Hector Plus facelifts are ready to go on sale on 5th January 2023. The SUV is likely to come with the ADAS suite offering features such as lane keep assist, rear driver assist, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, speed assist system and intelligent headlamp control. This time around, the Hector will get the Next-Gen i-Smart tech powered, new infotainment system, new steering wheel, new central console and new dashboard trim. Mahindra Thar 4X2 – January

Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce the 4X2 variants of the popular Thar SUV in January 2023. The 4X2 (2WD) system will be made available with a new 117bhp, 1.5L diesel and a 2.0L petrol engines. Maruti Baleno Cross Futuro SUV

Maruti Suzuki YTB (codename) will be the first product launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker that will go on sale in January 2023. Based on the Baleno hatchback, the Coupe SUV will measure under 4 meters and take on the Citroen C3, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. Prices of the new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be announced in January and its deliveries will begin in February and March 2023. It will be made available in Base, EP and EL variants, packed with a 39.5kWh battery pack making 148bhp with 310Nm. It will offer a claimed range of 456km on a single charge. Mahindra says that XUV400 can achieve 0 to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds, which makes it fastest accelerating EV in its segment. It comes with three drive modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless. More details here…

The 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift is reported to launch in the month of February. A few changes are likely to be made inside and out. The MPV’s updated version will come with the 2.7L, 4-cylinder petrol and 2.4L turbo diesel engine options. The oil burner makes a top power of 148bhp and 360Nm of torque. With the mid-life update, the MPV might receive a factory-fitted CNG kit with the 2.7L petrol engine. The new Innova Crysta will come in the G, G+ and GX trims only. More details here…

Honda’s new compact SUV is reported to hit roads in April 2023. The model will be designed on the Amaze’s platform and could be offered with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L petrol hybrid powertrain options. The hybrid system is the same that does duty in the City e-HEV. Kia India is reported to roll out the updated version of its top-selling Seltos SUV in April 2023. The new model will feature revised headlamps with angular signatures, tweaked front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels and taillamps. Similar to its cousin – new Creta, the 2023 Kia Seltos will receive the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Kia Carnival – April

The new-generation Kia Carnival will make its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by its launch in April 2023. The MPV will source its power from the same 2.2L diesel engine making 200bhp and 440Nm. Inside, there will be a completely new dashboard with wood trim and two 12.3-inch displays (one for the instrument cluster and one for the infotainment). It will also come with a new steering wheel and touch-sensitive buttons for infotainment and climate control on the centre console. The 5-door Force Gurkha has already reached at dealerships in the country. Though, its launch date is yet to be revealed officially. It will essentially be the long wheelbase version of the 3-door Gurkha. It could be offered in four seating layout options – 6, 7, 9 and 13-seats. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, the extended wheelbase version of the Bolero Neo, is likely to arrive in the Q1, 2023. Its official launch date is yet to be announced. Powering the SUV will be the same 2.2L mHawk diesel engine that does duty in its younger sibling. The SUV model lineup will come in two variants – P4 and P10 – and 7 and 9-seats configuration options. The carmaker will also offer an ambulance version featuring 4 seats and a patient bed.
