5-door Force Gurkha SUV has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its market launch. Once launched, the model will be placed against the upcoming 5-door Maruti Jimny and 5-door Mahindra Thar. Both its rivals are expected to make their debut at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo in January. The latest setup of images reveals design details of the 5-door Gurkha, which is painted in White colour scheme.
Compared to its 3-door version, the 5-door model will have longer wheelbase and come with four seating configurations – 6, 7, 9 and 13-seats. The 6-seater version will offer two captain chairs on the middle and third rows. The 7-seater model is likely to come with the bench-type seats in the second row and captain seats in the third row.
The Gurkha’s 9-seater version could be offered with the front facing bench seats for the middle row and two side facing bench seats for the third row. It will also be bigger than its younger sibling. While the wheelbase of the 5-door Force Gurkha is expected to be stretched by 400mm, its width (1812mm) and height (2075mm) will remain intact.
The off-road SUV will have larger 18-inch alloy wheels with 255/60 R18 size tyres. The lower variants are expected to come with the smaller steel wheels. Most of its design elements will be similar to the 3-door Gurkha. The SUV will continue to feature the retro-styled LED DRLs around the headlamps, roof mounted carrier, raised bonnet with mounted indicators, a snorkel, boot mounted spare wheel, rear washer wiper and rear ladder.
No changes are likely to be made under the hood. The 5-door Force Gurkha will derive power from the 2.6L turbo diesel engine that does duty in its 3-door version. The motor pushes out a peak power of 91bhp and 250Nm of torque. The off-road SUV will have 4X4 drivetrain system with the mechanically lockable front and rear differentials.
