Mahindra XUV400 Expected Price, Delivery & Test Drive Details

Mahindra XUV400, the first pure electric SUV from the home-grown automaker, is all set to hit Indian roads. Prices of the model will be revealed in the month of January (possibly at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo). Its test drives will also begin next month. However, deliveries of the new Mahindra electric SUV will be commenced in February and March 2023. Initially, it will be made available in select 16 cities. The model lineup will be spread across three variants – Base, EP and EL – which are expected to cost around Rs 17 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Interestingly, the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 will be the fastest accelerating electric SUV in the county. It’s claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds and offer a top speed of 150kmph. The powertrain setup of the EV includes a 39.5kWh battery pack using state-of-the-art Li-ion cells, delivering a combined power of 148bhp and 310Nm of torque. The XUV400 is claimed to offer a range of 456km on a single charge, thus making it the longest-range EV in its segment. Its arch rival – Tata Nexon EV delivers a range of 437km on a full charge.

The carmaker will provide three charging options with its new electric SUV. There will be a 3.3kW/16A home charger, a 7.2kW/32A and a DC fast charger. One can charge its battery pack from 0 to 80% in 13 hours by using the standard home charger and in 50 minutes via a DC fast charger. The Mahindra XUV400 will offer three drive modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless along with the segment-first single pedal ‘Lively model’. The overall length and width of the new Mahindra electric SUV stand at 4200mm and 1821mm respectively. It sits of a 2600mm long wheelbase and offers the best-in-class boot space of 378-litres (can be extended up to 418-litres).
