12 All-New Mahindra Cars Confirmed For India
With an aim to strengthen its hold in the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra & Mahindra will launch 12 all-new models in the next 3-4 years. Read – Mahindra-Ford JV Likely to Produce Around 10 New Cars
Speaking to an online media publication, Pawan Goenka, Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., said that the competition is getting fiercer in the UV segment with the arrival of new auto players such as Kia Motors and MG Motor.
Therefore, the company will bring in a dozen of new models including the new-generation Mahindra XUV500 and Scorpio. He also confirmed that the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will hit showrooms in the next fiscal year and the 2020 Mahindra Thar and Scorpio will arrive in fiscal 2021.
After these 3 models, the home-grown carmaker will roll out a mid-size SUV based on Ford’s platform to challenge Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. This new SUV will see a release in fiscal year 2022.
Mahindra & Mahindra will also expand its electric vehicle lineup with 3 new models – e-KUV100, XUV300 EV and a sedan based on Ford Aspire platform. The carmaker has already confirmed that the Mahindra XUV300 electric that will also be launched in the European market, will return a range of 300kms.
While the Mahindra e-KUV100 and XUV300 EV are likely to display at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Ford Aspire based electric sedan will come sometime in 2021. The company will also give a generation change to the Bolero SUV that will witness significant design, feature and mechanical upgrades.
