5. Honda Amaze
Launched in 2013, the Honda Amaze has recently achieved a new sales milestone of 2 lakh units in the country. The Amaze was the first Honda product in India that came with both petrol and diesel engine options. Power for the petrol model of the compact sedan comes from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 87bhp of power and 109Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel model is powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor that yields 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. With a 5-speed manual transmission, the Honda Amaze diesel returns an impressive mileage of 25.8kmpl. While, the petrol model delivers an average of 17.8kmpl.
As a reminder, the Honda Amaze, with minor cosmetic updates and a new CVT gearbox, received its first facelift in May 2016. The car now has the City-inspired single-slat chrome grille, re-designed bumpers and revised tail lamps. The interior quality, fit and finishing, too, received an improvement. Other interesting features on board are a new BR-V-inspired dashboard, instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a touchscreen AVN system and revised AC vents. Coming to prices, the Honda Amaze petrol costs between Rs 5.41 lakh – Rs 8.31 lakh, and the diesel models are priced between Rs 6.53 lakh – Rs 8.31 lakh.
