The made in India e20 Plus electric car from Mahindra started the trend for EVs in India and remains one of the best electric cars currently available for retail. Powered by the 72V lithium ion battery, e20 offers maximum power of 40bhp with 91Nm of torque and comes mated to an automatic transmission. The best thing about the battery is that it doesn’t demand much maintenance. As for the charging time, the battery takes 9 hours to charge completely, though it could be quick charged within an hour that allows 20kms of range. On the other hand, the car offers a range of 140kms in one full charge, while attaining a top speed of 80kmph. While it is among the first electric models in India, the company launched new e20 Plus with upgrades last year.
