2020 MG eZS SUV Revealed; India Launch In December
2020 MG eZS electric SUV has been unveiled for the UK market. The British carmaker has already confirmed that its second product for India will be eZS. Scheduled to launch by the end of this year (December, 2019), the MG eZS will take on the recently-launched Hyundai Kona. It’s claimed to be MG’s most high-tech car ever that “combines the spacious and practical design” along with “efficient and dynamic electric powertrain”.
For power, the MG eZS makes use of a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery for the front-mounted electric motor generating a top power of 143PS and 353Nm of torque. It offers a driving range of up to 262km from a single charge on the WLTP (world harmonized light-duty vehicles test procedure) combined cycle. On the WLTP city cycle, it delivers an electric range of 372km.

One can recharge the MG eZS on a standard 7kW home charger in 6 hours and up to 80% in 40 minutes via 50kW fast charger. The company is also offering a standard 3-pin plug for emergency cases. Some of its key features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and smartphone connectivity, leather seats, MG Pilot driver assistance suite, a panoramic sunroof, ‘star rider’ front grille, LED DRLs and rear lights and new 17-inch alloy wheels. In the UK, the MG eZS comes with a standard warranty of 7 year/80,000 mile that applies to its battery as well. Official details of the India-spec MG eZS are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to look similar to the UK-spec model and share some of its key features.
