7-Seater MG Hector (Wuling Almaz) Revealed

We reported earlier that MG Motors will launch the 7-seater version of the Hector SUV in India in early 2020. For people not in the know, the Hector is basically the re-engineered version of the Chinese-spec Baojun 530. In fact, the Wuling Almaz is also the re-engineered Baojun 530 for the Indonesian markets. Wuling Motors Indonesia has now revealed the 7-seater version of the Almaz premium SUV. The SUV will make an official debut at the 2019 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show).

The Wuling Almaz 7-seater will be offered in multiple variants. The entry-level manual variant is reportedly to be priced around 260 million Indonesian Rupiah (Rs 12.66 approximately). The range-topping Lux+ CVT is expected to cost around 332 million Indonesian Rupiah (Rs 16.12 lakh). The SUV is also benefitted with WIND (Wuling Indonesian Command) for voice commands that understand native Indonesian language.

The SUV is equipped with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with modern smartphone connectivity option. It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that produces 140bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The front and side profile of the 7-seater Almaz looks largely similar to the 5-seater model. The changes can be seen at the rear, which now has new bumper and muffler. Inside the cabin, the second row of seat comes with one-touch tumble function to access the rear. The bench seat can be move forward and backward to create more room at the back. MG Motors has recently launched the Hector SUV in India at an aggressive price tag of Rs 12.18 lakh for the base variant and Rs 16.88 lakh for the top-end model. The Hector has received overwhelming response from buyers with bookings crosses 12,000 in less than 2 months. MG Motors will launch the eZS pure electric SUV in the country in December 2019.
