The much-awaited Volvo’s performance brand Polestar has finally marked its entry in the Indian market. The Swedish luxury carmaker has launched the new Volvo S60 Polestar performance sedan in the country. Priced at Rs 52.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this performance sedan will rival the German trios – Mercedes-Benz AMG, Audi RS and BMW-M. Designed on the standard S60, the Volvo S60 Polestar highlights the performance elements and capabilities of the sedan. Powering the sedan is a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to offer 362bhp and 470Nm of torque. Paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the sedan is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 362bhp and a peak torque of 470Nm. This makes it 60bhp more powerful and 67Nm torquier than the regular model. The motor comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, supported by electronically controlled AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system. The Volvo S60 Polestar accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 4.7 seconds and is claimed to have an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Volvo S60 Polestar Exterior & Interior
The Volvo S60 Polestar is available only on the range-topping T6 trim. Exterior design of this performance sedan looks largely identical to the standard S60. Interior too shares strong resemblance to the standard model. Since this performance version is offered on the top-spec T6 trim, it is loaded with all the comfort, connectivity and safety features. The car comes with safety assist systems such as the Volvo City Safety feature that automatically stops at speeds lower than 50kmph in case of accident or collision. The Volvo S60 Polestar also offers a strong airbag protection for all occupants.
