2019 Renault Kwid Undisguised

French automaker, Renault has recently launched the updated Duster and the Triber 7-seater MPV. The company is now gearing up for the launch of the Kwid facelift, which has been spotted multiple times. Ahead of the launch, undisguised images of the updated Renault Kwid hatchback have been leaked on the internet. The pictures show the Renault Kwid Climber, which will be the top-of-the-line variant.

The updated Kwid Climber receives several changes to keep things fresh in the market. In terms of exterior changes, the hatchback gets split-headlamp set-up that resembles the Renault K-ZEE EV. The Led daytime running lights are positioned on the top, while the main headlamp unit placed on the lower bumper. Adding to it, the Kwid Climber facelift gets three horizontal slats on the lower front grille and prominent face.

At the back, the Renault Kwid facelift gets new tail-lamps and new light reflectors. Adding to it, the hatch gets newly developed alloy wheels in a gunmetal grey finish. The spotted model also has faux skid plates, new body cladding, roof rails and new orange accents. The new model is expected to be around 56mm longer than the existing model. Inside the cabin, the 2019 Renault Kwid Climber is likely to share some of the components with the Renault Triber. It is likely to get a newly developed 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and parking camera. Other features include the digital instrument cluster and new steering wheel.

Mechanically, the Renault Kwid facelift will remain unchanged. It will continue to be offered with the existing 54bhp, 0.8-litre and the 68bhp, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engines. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The company will introduce the BS6 compliant Kwid in early 2020.
