Renault India has rolled the all-new Triber 7-seater MPV in the Indian market. The MPV carline is spread across four trims – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ – priced at Rs 4.95 lakh, Rs 5.49 lakh, Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, India. In this price range, the Renault Triber MPV will compete against compact hatchbacks like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. It will also take on the Datsun GO+ 7-seater MPV.

In order to see which one out of these four cars make more sense to buy, we compare prices of Renault Triber and its close competitors. Priced from Rs 4.95 lakh to Rs 6.49 lakh, the Renault Triber sits between the Kwid hatchback and Duster SUV in the company’s product lineup. The new 7-seater MPV has been made available with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine that’s good enough for 72bhp and 96Nm. For transmission purpose, it gets a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Renault Triber Mini MPV

Prices of the Maruti Swift petrol start from Rs 5.14 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 7.97 lakh. The newly-launched Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes in the price range of Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 7.13 lakh. Both models are indirect rivals of the Triber, and are relatively more expensive. The Datsun GO+, on the other hand, is more affordable than the Renault Triber. The Renault Triber, however, has more features to offer right from the entry-level variant. Its RXE base trim comes with the standard dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), rear parking sensors, digital instrument cluster, manual AC unit, 4 seat configuration and projector headlights.

Features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and navigation, keyless entry, push button start/stop, cooled glovebox, four airbags, 14-inch alloys, front and rear skid plates and roof rails are reserved for the higher trims. The new 7-seater MPV from the French carmaker is high on practicality with spacious cabin and flexible seating configurations. In fact, it’s as fuel economical as its rivals.
