The Renault Triber MPV will go on sale in India in July 2019
Renault, the French carmaker, had announced that it will launch 2 new models in the Indian market in the next 2 years. This year, the company will launch an all-new 7-seater MPV, codenamed RBC, which will be followed by the new-gen Duster in 2020. The company has revealed the name of the upcoming 7-seater MPV, which will be called the Renault Triber. The new MPV is expected to be launched in June or July 2019, though exact launch date is yet to be announced.
The new Renault Triber MPV is currently in its testing phase. It will be based on the CMF-A modular platform, which also underpins the Kwid hatchback. However, Renault will make changes to the platform to make it stronger enough to meet the upcoming the crash test norms. The MPV is expected to be positioned below the new Ertiga MPV in terms of pricing. It will challenge the likes of Datsun GO+ and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Renault Triber Launch Date
It is confirmed that the new Renault 7-seater MPV will be launched in mid-2019. Though the exact launch date is yet to be announced, media reports claim that the MPV could go on sale in June or July 2019. The MPV is likely to enter into production in the next 1-2 months. The Renault Triber will be the second offering from the French carmaker in the MPV segment, first is the Renault Lodgy.

The all-new Renault Triber MPV is expected to measure just above 4 meter in length, though nothing official has been revealed by the automaker. The new model could measure around 4 meter in length, which will allow it to avail excise duty benefits. Adding to it, the MPV will be based on the brand’s low-cost platform. This will help the automaker to reduce the total manufacturing cost of the car, and enable the carmaker achieve aggressive pricing. The company has confirmed that the Renault Triber will be priced in the range of Rs 5.3 lakh and Rs 8 lakh.

It is expected that the Renault’s new 7-seater MPV will be available in petrol avatar only. The Triber is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine that also powers the Kwid hatchback. However, this engine will be tuned for higher power output. While powering the Kiwd, the 1.0L petrol engine produces 68bhp of power and 91Nm of torque. Media reports claim that the new engine will offer around 7bhp more power than the one offered in the Kwid. For transmission duties, the Triber MPV will have a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit.
Renault Triber Mileage
Equipped with a smaller capacity engine, the Renault Triber is expected to return high fuel efficiency. We believe that this model could deliver close to 20-21kmpl.
Renault Triber Exterior
Renault hasn’t revealed the design of the MPV, but the teaser reveals that the Triber will have an upright bonnet and large front bumper. This model is completely newly designed, which suggests that the design of the MPV could share some resemblance with modern Renault cars. To be based on the Renault’s CMF-A modular platform, the Renault Tribe will measure under 4 meter in length. It is expected that the 7-seater MPV will come with premium design highlights like LED daytime running lights, a large grille with chrome inserts, Renault’s familiar grille with chrome treatment, flared wheel arches, roof-mounted spoiler, body-coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers and LED tail-lights.
Renault Triber Interior
The Renault Triber is currently in testing phase. The MPV’s interior details are yet to be revealed, but it is expected to receive dual-tone interior scheme. The steering wheel and other design elements are likely to be sourced from the Captur crossover. It will be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and navigation. The Renault Triber gets a removable third row of seats, which also has a dedicated set of AC vents. The third row of seat can be removed for extra luggage space. The Renault Triber will receive dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seat belt reminder as standard. The top-end model will also receive reverse parking camera.
