TVS Motor Company had unveiled an aggressive looking TVS Zeppelin performance cruiser concept, which previews the brand’s future cruiser motorcycle. Sporting cruiser styling and bold stance, the TVS Zeppelin could be a huge hit in the market. Unlike Bajaj Avenger 220, the Zeppelin will be arrived as a performance cruiser. Here are 5 things we know about the upcoming TVS Zeppelin 220cc cruiser –

– Aggressive Design & Modern Equipment

The TVS Zeppelin comes with aggressive styling, which looks quite intimidating. This performance cruiser gets vertically oriented rectangular LED headlamp, compact instrument console with an analogue rev counter and digital readouts, and split seats. In terms of features, the motorcycle gets gold 41mm USD front forks, a flat handlebar, an HD action camera, Smart Bio-Key feature and dual-channel ABS system. However, most of these premium features are not likely to be offered in the production model.

– Newly Developed 220cc Engine

This power cruiser is equipped with a 220cc, single-cylinder engine supported by a patented Integrated Starter Generator system. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine is claimed to offer 20bhp of power at 8,500rpm along with a peak torque of 18.5Nm at 7,000rpm. TVS claims that this cruiser comes with a top speed of 130kmph.

– Mild-Hybrid Tech

The TVS Zeppelin power cruiser could be India’s first bike to feature mild-hybrid system. It is equipped with TVS patented Integrated Starter Generator system, which works similar to the Suzuki’s mild-hybrid system – SHVS. This system also gets an e-boost function that adds to its performance, featuring a 1200W regenerative assist motor powered by a 48V Li-ion battery. – Braking, Suspension & Tyre Size

Featuring a two-part seat, the power cruiser sits on a 1,490mm wheelbase which is similar to the one offered with the Avenger 220 Cruiser. For braking, the motorcycle was equipped with a 300mm front disc and 240mm rear disc. The dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) further improves its stopping power. The cruiser was equipped with 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wheels shod with tubeless 110/70 and 140/70 Pirelli tyres respectively. The concept model also has a large 20-litre fuel tank. – Will It Launch?

TVS is yet to make an official announcement on the launch of this cruiser motorcycle. Going by the TVS history, it is quite possible that this cruiser will enter into production phase. All the TVS concepts in past had entered into production, and the same could be possible with the Zeppelin. A possible launch in late 2019 or early 2020 can’t be ignored.

The production-ready model is likely to miss out on several high-end features like USD front forks, an HD action camera, etc. This model could be India’s first motorcycle to feature mild-hybrid technology. Likely to be introduced as a performance cruiser, the motorcycle could be priced somewhere around Rs 1.4 lakh.
