TVS Motor Company has rolled out its first electric scooter – the TVS iQube. Priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (onroad), the new TVS electric scooter locks horns against the recently-launched Bajaj Chetak that costs Rs 1 lakh for the Urbane and Rs 1.15 lakh for the Premium variant.

The new TVS electric scooter will be available in Bengaluru from 27th January, 2020. Interested buyers can book the TVS iQube via official website or at select TVS dealerships by paying a sum of Rs 5,000. The company has setup dedicated customer relationship assistance network for the scooter.

Powering the TVS iQube is a 4.4kW electric motor that enables it to deliver a top speed of 78kmph. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 4.2 seconds. The new TVS electric scooter is claimed to deliver a range of 75km on a single charge. It offers two riding modes – Power and Economy – that allows rider to adjust the power output optimize the range. The scooter’s battery can be fully charged in around 5 hours via a 5 Ampere socket. The TVS iQube carries a neo-retro design and shares some of its design elements with the Ntorq and Jupiter scooters. At the front end, the vehicle has a black cowl between the handles as we have seen in the Ntorq. While the LED headlamp is integrated on the front apron, the U-shaped LED DRL is placed under the cowl. The new TVS electric scooter also gets sporty side panels and LED taillamps.

In terms of features, the all-new TVS iQube offers SmartXonnect system for smartphone connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation. Features such as regenerative braking, geo-fencing, anti-theft system and parking assist system are also on offer. The new TVS electric scooter has a dedicated app offering information such as ride statistics, location of the vehicle, last park location, Q-park assist, and more.
