Tata Altroz EV, H2X Electric Mini SUV To Be Priced Below Rs 10 Lakh

Tata Motors is all set to launch its first electric SUV on 28th January – the Tata Nexon EV. The carmaker will further expand its electric vehicle lineup with 6 new models in the next 2-3 years. The Tata Altroz EV will be the next electric launch from the carmaker, which will be followed by Tata H2X EV (Hornbill). Both models are reported to be priced below Rs 10 lakh.

The Tata Altroz EV and Tata H2X EV are likely to share powertrain with the Nexon EV. Though, the capacity of batteries and their power outputs could be different. The Tata Nexon EV comes with an IP67 certified 30.2 kWh battery pack and a permanent magnet AC motor.

Tata Altroz EV In India

The carmaker claims that it delivers a maximum range of over 300km on a single charge. The Tata Nexon EV delivers a peak torque of 245Nm and is capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds. Its battery pack can be charged up to 80% in 60 minutes via a fast charger.

Similar to the Tata Nexon EV, the electric iterations of the Altroz and H2X mini SUV might come with the brand’s new ZConnect app offering 35 connected car features. It has dedicated EV features such as available range, remote monitoring of the current battery charge levels, nearest charging stations, charging history and many more.

Tata H2X Launch

Tata’s ZConnect app also offers multiple features under different categories including safety, location-based services, remote commands and driving behavior. Visually, the Tata Altroz EV and Tata H2X EV will look similar to their regular models.

The ICE (internal combustion engine) Tata Altroz was recently launched at a starting price of 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The carmaker might unveil the production-ready version of the Tata H2X mini SUV at the Auto Expo 2020. It’s reported to be named – Tata Hornbill and its launch might happen in the second half of this year.
