Toyota’s Ertiga Based MPV Might Look Like This

Toyota Maruti MPV

Both the companies might exchange and rebadge more vehicles in coming years.

Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation entered a partnership for vehicle production, technological development and market development early this year. Both the companies will mutually supply their components and vehicles for the Indian market. Toyota and Denso Corporation will provide technological support for developing a compact, highly efficient powertrain to Suzuki.

Toyota Kirloskar will produce models developed by Suzuki and sell them in India via brand network of both the companies. Suzuki will supply the Vitara Brezza compact SUV and the Baleno premium hatchback to Toyota, while the latter one will source the Corolla sedan to the former. Both the companies might exchange and rebadge more vehicles in coming years.

If the Indo-Japanese carmaker will supply its popular Ertiga MPV to Toyota, the rebadged version might resemble to this digital rendering. Developed under Toyota-Suzuki joint venture, Toyota’s version of Ertiga might feature smoked headlamps, bold front bumper and three-slate grille at the front end. Check Out – Upcoming Toyota Cars in India

The rendering suggests that the Toyota Ertiga MPV might get sporty black treatment on the ORVMs, alloy wheels, roof and A-B-C pillars. The pronounced wheel arches, bold side creases and black side cladding will add more to its sporty look.

There is no denial that Toyota might bring in Suzuki sourced, rebadged MPV at affordable pricing. If it happens, the new Toyota-Suzuki MPV will be positioned below the Innova Crysta. However, there is no official word on any such development.

Talking about the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the MPV is all set for a generation change in the country. The updated model of the MPV sits on the lightweight HEARTECT platform and makes use of a new, more powerful 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine. The 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet diesel powertrain will continue be on offer. In select markets, the new Ertiga will also be available with LPG and CNG fuel options. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
