The next three months will be super exciting for the auto enthusiasts as there will more than 10 new product launches including all-new models, facelifts and special editions. Here’s a brief on the top upcoming cars that will go on sale by August 2023.

Maruti Jimny

Maruti Jimny Waiting Period

Prices of the Jimny lifestyle off-roader will be announced on 7th June 2023. The model has been powered by a 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 105bhp and 134.2Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. While its manual delivers a claimed mileage of 16.94kmpl, the automatic version promises 16.39kmpl. The SUV comes with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and a low-range gearbox. The 5-door Jimny model lineup includes two trims – Zeta and Alpha that can be had in 7 colour options. On the feature front, the SUV offers a 9.0-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, climate control, Arkamys sound system, cruise control, etc. More details here…

Honda Elevate

Honda Elevate SUV Confirmed

Bookings for the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV have already been commenced at dealership level. The model is ready to make its global debut on 6th June, followed by its launch in August 2023. While its specifications and feature details are yet to be revealed, the Elevate is likely to be offered with the City’s 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. It might also receive the strong hybrid powertrain from City sedan at a later stage. Honda will pack its new midsize SUV with ADAS (Honda Sensing) tech along with features such as a single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a digital driver display, cruise control, premium audio system and push button start/stop. Hyundai Exter

Hyundai Exter Bookings

Official launch date of the new Hyundai Exter is yet to be announced. Though, it’s reported to enter into production in early July and its market launch will happen by mid July. The Exter will come in EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect trims and 15 variants (13 petrol and 2 CNG). For power, the mini SUV uses a 1.2L petrol and 1.2L petrol with a CNG kit. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 83bhp and 114Nm of torque, the CNG version offers 69bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. There will two gearboxes on offer – a manual and an AMT. The carmaker will offer 9 colour options including a new Ranger Khaki shade. The micro SUV gets 6 airbags as standard safety fitment along with ABS with EBD, TPMS, ESS, HAS, rear parking camera, dashcam with dual camera, etc. More details here…

Maruti Engage

New Maruti MPV Launch

Maruti Engage will be the brand’s first re-badged Toyota, based on the Innova Hycross hybrid premium MPV. The model will be made available with the 2.0L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid and 2.0L petrol engine making power worth 184bhp and 172bhp respectively. While the strong hybrid version returns a claimed mileage of 23.24kmpl, the latter promises 16.13kmpl. The Engage MPV will underpin Toyota’s monocoque chassis and TNGA-C platform. Interestingly, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki to offer ADAS tech along with the traction control, ESC and ABS with EBD. While most of its design elements will be similar to the Toyota Innova Hycross, a few cosmetic changes are expected to be made to differentiate it. More details here…

Tata Nexon Facelift

The new Tata Nexon facelift will see a release by August 2023. With a few design changes, the subcompact SUV will look slightly refreshing. Though, the major updates will be made inside the cabin. The new Nexon will feature a new twin-spoke steering wheel, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice commands and connected car tech. The SUV will get black finish dashboard and centre console and purple seat upholstery. The list will also include a digital driver display, a 360 degree camera, ventilated front seats, a sunroof and an air purifier. After the Tata Altroz CNG, the home-grown automaker will bring in the CNG version of the Punch mini SUV. It will be packed with a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine with a dual-cylinder CNG setup. In the CNG mode, the micro SUV offers a peak power of 70-75bhp and 100Nm of torque. Its fuel efficiency will be around 30km/kg. The Tata Punch CNG is likely to be based on the lower and mid-spec variants. The SUV’s mid-level variant offers features such as audio system with 4-inch display, a multi functional steering wheel, power windows, USB charging socket, remote key lock/unlock, etc. More details here…

The Kia Seltos facelift is reported to arrive in the month by August 2023. The SUV comes with slightly improved design and more feature-packed interior. No changes will be made to its engine setup. It will continue to come with the 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 115bhp, 1.5L diesel motors along with the new 160bhp, 1.5 turbo petrol unit. The biggest update will come in the form of the ADAS suite offering features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane centering steering, forward collision avoidance system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, etc. More details here…

The Nissan Magnite Geza Edition is slated to launch on 26th May 2023. Interested buyers can pre-book it at Rs 11,000. As of now, the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed feature details of the special edition. Though, it’s likely to come in a single variant with the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine and manual gearbox combination. The motor generates a peak power of 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. There will be five colour options on offer – Blade Silver, Sandstone Brown, Flare Garnet Red, Onyx Black and Strom White. The Magnite Geza Edition will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a reverse parking camera, JBL speakers, beige seat upholstery, ambient lighting with app-based controls and a shark fin antenna. Volkswagen Virtus New Manual Variant

Volkswagen will introduce the Taigun’s new variants based on the GT Plus trim, packed with 1.5L turbo petrol engine. The SUV model lineup will also get the Taigun GT Limited Collection that includes two concepts – Trail and Sport. The carmaker will also roll out the Volkswagen Taigun in three new colours – Carbon Steel Matt, Lava Blue and Deep Black Pearl. The Volkswagen Virtus sedan will also receive a new manual variant based on the GT Plus trim along with the new special editions – GT Edge Limited Collection in Deep Black Pear finish.
