Maruti Jimny Price Reveal On 7th June; 30K Bookings So Far

Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited 5-door Jimny SUV will go on sale in India on 7th June, 2023. In the liftstyle, off-road SUV segment, it will take head-to-head against the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar. The latter is likely to debut in the month of August. The Indo-Japanese automaker has confirmed that the 5-door Maruti Jimny has gathered 30,000 bookings so far. While its prices will be officially announced in a couple of weeks, it’s expected to cost between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Jimny Variants, Features

The new lifestyle off-roader from Maruti Suzuki will come in only two variants – Zeta and Alpha. The entry-level Zeta trim has been packed with features such as steel wheels, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, 4-speaker audio system, a 7.0-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, power windows, colour MID display, seatbelt pretensioners, reversing camera, brake limited slip differential, electronic stability program, Isofix child seat anchorages and 6 airbags.

Maruti Jimny Alpha

Buyers will get a 9.0-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, Arkamys sound system, climate control, keyless start, cruise control, fog lamps, LED headlamps, headlamp washers, auto headlamps, alloy wheels and body-coloured door handles with the Alpha trim.

The carmaker is offering the Jimny in 7 exterior colour options, namely, Kinetic Yellow with black roof, Sizzling Red with bluish black roof, Granite Grey, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, Nexa Blue and Pearl Arctic White.

Maruti Jimny Mileage, Power

The new 5-door Jimny SUV derives its power from the 1.5L, naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 105bhp and 134.2Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims that the Jimny offers a mileage of 16.94kmpl with manual gearbox and 16.39kmpl with automatic transmission. It has been designed on the ladder-frame chassis and equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system that has a manual transfer case and a low-range gearbox (with 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low modes).
