Hyundai Exter Production To Begin In July 2023 – Launch Details

The much-anticipated Hyundai Exter micro SUV will go on sale in our market in July 2023. Interested buyers can book the new model online or at authorised dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. A new media report claims that the production of the new Exter will commence in early July, while launch by mid-July 2023. 

Set to be the brand’s smallest SUV, the new Hyundai Exter will directly rival the segment leader Tata Punch. Deliveries of the new Exter are expected to commence by early August at most Hyundai dealerships across the country. The new model will be offered in 5 trim levels – EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect – and in total of 15 variants (13 Petrol & 2 CNG). 

Hyundai Exter Variant details

The Hyundai Exter will share the engine options with the Grand i10 Nios that includes a 1.2L petrol and a 1.2L petrol with a factory-fitted CNG kit. While the former is good for 83bhp and 114Nm, the powertrain in CNG mode offers 69bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. Except for the base EX trim, all variants will come with AMT gearbox. 

The new Exter will be offered in 9 colour options including 3 dual-tone. The single tone paint scheme includes Starry Night, Atlas White, new Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Titan Grey and Cosmic Blue. The dual-tone shades are offered with Cosmic Blue, Atlas White and Ranger Khaki.

The small SUV features the brand’s new design philosophy, featuring parametric-jewel-type front grille. The small SUV has an upright stance and split headlamp setup with H-pattern LED daytime running lamps. It has round and flared wheel arches with thick cladding across the length. It has a faux silver skid plate, contrasting black grille, dual-tone alloy wheels & a floating roof effect. At the back, the SUV gets an upright tail gate, a shark fin antenna, tail-lamps with H-pattern LED lighting elements and a pronounced faux skid plate in dual-tone finish. 

Hyundai has confirmed that the new Exter will come with 6 airbags as standard. It will get keyless entry, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, ESS, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, hill start assist, vehicle stability management, dashcam with dual camera, rear parking camera and headlamp escort function.
