Kia Seltos is one of the brand’s existing models that’s ready to receive mid-life updates in coming months. While its official launch date is yet to be revealed, the model is reported to hit roads in mid 2023 (possibly in July). So, what will be new about the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift and what’s not. Let’s take a close look.
What’s New?
With the mid-life update, the Seltos will receive a newly-designed front grille and headlamps with LED DRLs extending into the grille and tweaked front bumper. The side profile will remain more or less similar to the existing model. Though, it will have a new set of alloy wheels. Significant changes will be visible at the rear end. The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will be the first vehicle in its segment to come with the dual exhaust tips. The SUV will also have sequential turn indicators on the LED taillamps, which will be connected via a light bar. The tailgate will be redesigned and feature a larger indentation for the license plate.
The new Kia Seltos 2023 will be high on safety with the ADAS suite and more standard fitments. The ADAS suite will offer features such as lane centering steering, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, forward collision avoidance system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and remote smart parking assist. The safety kit will also include 6 airbags, vehicle stability management, parking sensors and camera, hill assist control and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Minor changes will be made to its dashboard design. The SUV will get a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. There will be a rotary dial with automatic gearbox instead of the conventional gear lever. The new 2023 Kia Seltos might come with a panoramic sunroof and heated seats.
What’s Not?
Kia will carry forward several features from the current model. It will continue to offer Bose 8-speaker sound system, 8-way power driver’s seat, 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, blind spot monitor, UVO connectivity features, HUD unit, air purifier, wireless charging and many more goodies. The SUV model lineup will be offered in two trims – HT Line and GT Line –
On the engine front, the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will offer the existing 115PS, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 115PS, 1.5L diesel engine. The newly-introduced 1.5L turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 160PS and 253Nm will also be on offer. It came as a replacement to the old 140PS, 1.4L turbo petrol motor. A new 6-speed iMT gearbox has replaced the 6-speed manual transmission. The SUV can also be had with the 7-speed DCT and CVT gearbox options.
