Top 10 Upcoming New Maruti Suzuki Cars In India – New Swift, Brezza

Maruti Suzuki is aiming to maintain over 50% market share in the highly competitive Indian market. In order to remain stable, MSIL is planning to launch a wide range of new products in the Indian market in the near future. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Maruti Suzuki had delayed the launch of several products in the market.

In this article, we bring you a list of top 10 upcoming new Maruti Suzuki cars to be launched in the Indian market in the next couple of years.

1. New-gen Maruti Celerio

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the next generation Celerio hatchback in the month of September-October 2021. The new model will be based on the new HEARTECT lightweight platform, which also underpins the WagonR and the S-Presso. The new model has been spotted multiple times. In fact, clear pictures have already been leaked on the Internet.

The new model will get better equipped cabin with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a multi-functional steering wheel, keyless entry, automatic climate control & others. The 2021 Celerio will receive a 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine that also powers the WagonR hatchback. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. The hatchback will also offer the existing 1.0L 3-cylinder K10 petrol engine that offers 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.

2. Maruti Swift, Dzire CNG

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the CNG versions of the Swift hatchback and the Dzire subcompact sedan. The new models are likely to be launched during festive season, around Sept-Oct 2021. The new models will feature a 1.2-litre Dualjet K12C petrol engine with a CNG kit. In CNG mode, the powertrain offers 70bhp of power at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 95Nm at 4,000rpm. No other changes will be made to the vehicles.

3. Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG

Not just Swift twins CNG, MSIL will introduce the CNG version of the Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The new model will come with the 1.5L K15B petrol engine with factory-fitted CNG kit. The power and torque outputs will witness a minor drop. The Brezza CNG variant will produce a maximum power of 91bhp of power and 122Nm of torque. The new model will have dual inderdependent ECUs and intelligent injection system.

4. Maruti XL7

Maruti Suzuki is preparing an upgraded version of the XL6 Cross-MPV, which is sold through NEXA premium dealership network. The company will also introduce the 7-seater version of the SUV, which is already on sale in Indonesia as the Suzuki XL7. The new Suzuki XL7 is reportedly to be launched in the month of January 2021. The vehicle will share most of the features with the XL6.

The XL7 offers a boot space of 153-litres with all three rows in position. The boot space can be increased up to 550-litres and 803-litres by folding down the second row and third row seats respectively. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that pushes out 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. If reports are to be believed, the XL6 & XL7 could receive the BSVI compliant diesel engine option. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.

5. Five-Door Maruti Suzuki Jimny

Maruti Suzuki is readying a new 5-door version of the Jimny off-roader, which is scheduled to be launched in the mid-2022. The new model will ride on 300mm longer wheelbase, and the length will be increased by 300mm to create more space inside the cabin. The new model will offer seat for 5 adults, as the second row will get forward-facing seats. The SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,550mm, while the ground clearance stands at 210mm. It will have a kerb weight of 1190kg, which is 100kgs higher than the 3-door Sierra.

The new Suzuki Jimny LWB is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with mild hybrid system. This engine produces 100bhp of power and 130Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.

6. Maruti Baleno Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is working on the next-gen Baleno hatch, which is expected to be introduced by 2023. Before launching new model, MSIL will give a mid-life facelift to the existing Baleno. The upgraded model is likely to receive some changes, which will include new headlamps with LED DRLs, a revised grille, new bumper and upgraded touchscreen infotainment system along with new upholstery. It will continue to be offered with the existing engine options – a 82bhp, 1.2L petrol and a 89bhp, 1.2L DualJet petrol.

7. Next-gen Maruti Vitara Brezza

Maruti Suzuki is working on the next generation Vitara Brezza, which is expected to be introduced in early 2022. The new model will be based on the advanced version of the HEARTECT platform. It will receive a stronger hybrid system and several advanced connectivity and convenience features. Adding to it, the compact SUV will also receive electric sunroof and up to 6 airbags.

The new Brezza will come with the existing 1.5L K15B petrol engine; however, it will get a stronger mild hybrid system. It is expected to feature a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor to achieve higher fuel efficiency. The SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and the Tata Nexon.

8. Maruti-Toyota mid-sized SUV

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota JV is working on a new mid-sized SUV, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming VW Taigun and the MG Astor. The new model is most likely to be based on the Toyota’s new DNGA platform, which also underpins the Toyota Raize and the Daihatsu Rocky. The new model will be produced at Toyota’s production plant, which was earlier used to produce Yaris sedan.

It is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is currently under development. MSIL could also introduce the diesel version of the SUV. The petrol powered model will get a stronger hybrid engine, which should improve its overall fuel efficiency.

The new model will be based on the HEARTECT platform, which underpins the S-Presso. The new model will witness comprehensive cosmetic changes along with more upmarket interior. It could also receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2022 Maruti Alto is likely to feature the same 769cc, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that does duty in the current generation. The gasoline unit pushes out a peak power of 48bhp and 69Nm of torque. It is also expected to receive a factory-fitted CNG kit. Both manual and AMT versions are likely on offer.

10. Next-gen Maruti Swift

It is reported that the all-new Suzuki Swift will be based on the newly developed platform. The new lightweight platform will make the new model lighter. The platform is reportedly to be more safer and rigid compared to the existing HEARTECT platform.

The report also claims that the all-new Swift will receive a new refined version of the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine with hybrid system. It is likely to get a stronger hybrid system, which should improve the overall fuel efficiency.
