Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG Details Leaked Ahead of Launch

Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its CNG product portfolio in coming months. The Indo-Japanese carmaker will working on CNG variants of its three popular models, namely, Swift, Dzire and Vitara Brezza. Recently, the specifications of the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG were leaked on the web. As per the leaked document, the model will come with the 1.5L K15B petrol engine with factory-fitted CNG kit. The power and torque outputs will witness a minor drop. The Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG variant will deliver a maximum power of 91bhp and 122Nm of torque. The SUV’s petrol model offers a peak power of 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. The CNG kit is likely to be offered with the 5-speed manual gearbox. Similar to the other Maruti Suzuki CNG cars, it will have dual interdependent ECUs and intelligent injection system. With an additional CNG kit, the overall kerb weight of the vehicle will go up. The suspension setup and braking system might also be revised.

Vitara Brezza facelift handling

The carmaker says its “S-CNG vehicles are designed to deliver optimum performance, safety, engine durability, convenience and mileage”. The launch details of the Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG variant are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Meanwhile, the company is gearing up to launch the new-generation Maruti Celerio that will witness comprehensive design and feature upgrades along with the WagonR’s more refined 83bhp, 1.0L petrol engine.

After the new Celerio, the carmaker will bring in the second-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza that’s due for early 2022. The compact SUV is reported to come with the new BS6-ready 1.5L diesel engine along with the existing petrol powertrain. The same oil burner will also be introduced on the new XL6 MPV, Ciaz sedan and Ertiga MPV. It will get the 6-speed automatic gearbox instead of the existing 4-speed automatic transmission.
