Tata 45X (Maruti Baleno Rival) Launch In The Second Half of 2019

To be based on Tata Motors new Alfa architecture, the upcoming Tata 45X based premium hatchback will go on sale during festive season 2019

Tata Motors has finally announced the name and launch details of its upcoming SUV based on the H5X concept. Called the Tata Harrier, the SUV will go on sale in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2019. Besides, the homegrown automaker is also working on a premium hatchback to take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz.

The new premium hatchback was first previewed at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo in concept form. Tata has already started testing this model on Indian roads. If latest media report is to be believed, this premium hatchback will be launched during the 2019 festive season. We believe that the company could unveil the production ready model in early 2019. The 45X based hatchback will be the company’s first product to use the new Alfa architecture or AMP (Advanced Modular Platform). It will be the brand’s second model to be based on the IMPACT DESIGN 2.0 design language. This hatchback is claimed to offer segment leading features and performance. The concept, showcased at the Auto Expo, was longer than 4 meter in length. It measures 4,253mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,451mm in height. However, the production ready model will sit under 4 meter in length. It is expected to share engine mechanics with the Nexon, which means a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel paired to either 6-speed manual or AMT gearboxes. Tata Motors is also working on a mid-sized sedan to challenge the likes of Hyundai Verna and Honda City. This sedan is likely to use the Alfa architecture. This model is likely to be launched in 2020.
